Acting: Adults

Week 3 - Television - Saturday, June 7th:

This week we our topic is Television. For the Saturday adult workshop Yolanda is asking that you read the cliff notes version of “To Kill a Mockingbird” because you will be asked to interview the different characters for a television interview. Teens and kids come prepared with television script for Saturday. (Look below for Week 3 link for scripts)

Week 3 - Television - Monday, June 9th:

Monday’s classes are asked to prepare a 5 minute Studio 5 (Utah’s TV Show at 1 pm with Brooke Walker on KSL). Choose either a Style (fashion/beauty), Project (craft), Home & Garden, Relationship, Health & Fitness, Business Idea, Photography, or Cooking (recipe) Segment. View this link for thousands of ideas: http://studio5.ksl.com/. You are the expert on a topic of your choice. If your segment is strong enough it may be selected to be pitched to the show!

Print off your 5 minute TV segment (which usually gets sent to the Producers of Studio 5 one week before you air on TV for approval. Bring 2 scripts with everything you are going to say all laid out in question/answer format. Maybe your topic is the “Top 5 Fashions for Summer” so write out your main points and possible questions that someone in class can interview you on. Please dress as if you were going on the show and be hair and makeup ready!

Check out past segments that Amber Evans (owner of Stars Talent Studio) did on her past TV segments (and script ideas) http://studio5.ksl.com/?nid=34&query=amber+evans

Next week: Memorize a film script.  (For the next few weeks go to www.simplyscripts.com, www.dcostranscripts.blogspot.com, back of your workbook to select scripts).

  3. Hi...I'm trying to get the lines for the adult acting class on Saturday mornings. The link takes me to a page that I have to sign on with my email address and then tells me that I have to be approved and that I will be sent an email. I haven't received that email yet and would like to be able to get the lines...what can I do to get them? :) Thanks...
